Closed Charge

A “closed charge” refers to a type of security interest or mortgage that cannot be increased or added to once it has been established. In other words, the amount of the loan or obligation secured by the closed charge is fixed at the time the charge is created, and the borrower (chargor) is not permitted to borrow additional funds against the secured property under that same charge.
