Apraxia
In the context of personal injury, apraxia is a neurological disorder characterized by the inability to perform purposeful movements or tasks, despite having the physical ability and desire to do so. This condition results from brain damage, often caused by a traumatic injury such as a head injury, stroke, or other events that lead to significant brain trauma.
Apraxia affects the brain’s ability to plan and execute coordinated movements. It is not due to muscle weakness, paralysis, or a lack of understanding, but rather a disruption in the brain’s ability to send the correct signals to the muscles to perform specific actions.
