Ataxia
Ataxia refers to a neurological condition characterized by a lack of voluntary coordination of muscle movements, which can affect balance, walking, speech, and the ability to perform fine motor tasks. Ataxia is often the result of damage to the cerebellum, the part of the brain that controls coordination and movement, and can be caused by traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, or other forms of physical trauma. When ataxia is the result of a personal injury, it may significantly impact the individual’s ability to perform daily activities, work, and maintain independence.
