Attendant Care
Attendant care refers to the provision of assistance and support to individuals who are unable to perform certain activities of daily living (ADLs) on their own due to illness, injury, or disability. In the context of personal injury, attendant care is often necessary when an injured person requires help with tasks such as bathing, dressing, eating, mobility, medication management, and other personal care needs.
Attendant care can be provided by a professional caregiver, such as a nurse or home health aide, or by a family member or friend who takes on the caregiving role. The level of care required can vary from occasional assistance to 24-hour care, depending on the severity of the injury and the individual’s needs.
