Cerebellum

The cerebellum is a crucial part of the brain located at the back of the skull, beneath the cerebrum. It plays a vital role in coordinating voluntary movements, maintaining balance and posture, and fine-tuning motor activities. The cerebellum is responsible for ensuring smooth, coordinated muscle activity and is involved in motor learning, which is the ability to refine movements through practice.

When the cerebellum is injured, typically due to traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, or other forms of head trauma, it can lead to significant impairments in a person’s ability to move and function normally.
