Counteroffer

A “counteroffer” is a response to an initial offer in negotiations where the original offer’s terms are rejected, and new terms are proposed. Instead of accepting the original offer as presented, the recipient makes a counteroffer, which effectively nullifies the original offer and puts forth a new set of terms for consideration.
