Metes and Bounds Description

A metes and bounds description is a method of describing land or property boundaries in a way that specifies the physical limits of a parcel of land. This system uses natural landmarks, man-made structures, directions, and distances to define the perimeter of a property. Metes and bounds is one of the oldest methods of land description, often used for irregularly shaped parcels that do not fit neatly into a rectangular survey system.
