Post-Traumatic Amnesia (PTA)
Post-Traumatic Amnesia (PTA) refers to a state of confusion and memory loss that occurs after a traumatic brain injury (TBI). During PTA, the injured individual is unable to form new memories and may be disoriented regarding time, place, and personal identity. This condition is typically a transitional phase between unconsciousness (such as a coma) and the return of full awareness and memory function.
